The chiefs of British glassmaker Pilkington Plc and Italy“s yellow pages publisher Seat are set to join the board of partly privatized utility Enel. A recent report said Pilkington CEO Paolo Scaroni and Seat chief executive Lorenzo Pelliccioli were likely to be brought onto the board as representatives of investment funds at a shareholders meeting scheduled for December 18 or 19. The meeting, the first since the electricity group“s initial public offering in October, is expected to approve the board“s expansion to seven from five members to reflect Enel“s changed shareholder make-up since the state sold off 30%. The report also said that Scaroni and Pelliccioli would be nominated by a group of 11 Italian investment funds, who say they hold more than one percent of Enel“s capital.
