US-based Owens Corning (OWC) announced a new organizational structure reporting to the office of the chief operating officer and key objectives that the organization aims to meet. The building materials company appointed Domenico Cecere to the newly created chief operating officer position in April. In a recent press release, the company said the organization is designed to achieve six key objectives: enhanced focus on customers; increased amplification of the “Owens Corning System Thinking Strategy;” enabling the company“s businesses; more effective leverage from key team members and leaders; minimizing any organizational conflict; and permanent reduction in the overall cost structure. Twelve business units, nine of them newly created or reorganized, will now report to the chief operating officer. The businesses are Insulating Systems, Composites Systems, Exterior Systems, Roofing Solutions, Cultured Stone, Distribution, Fabricating Solutions, Retail & Distribution Sales, Remodeling Services, OC Supply Chain Solutions, OC Customer Solutions, and System Thinking Strategy. Previously, only four business units reported to the chief operating officer.
