Celebrating the 200th anniversary of the Mt. Vernon Glass Company, the glass factory on that was founded in Vernon in 1810, the Vernon Historical Society will host a presentation on Saturday, 18 September at the Town of Vernon Town Hall. The Mt. Vernon Glass Company manufactured bottles and tableware for the early pioneers of New York State and is well-known to collectors and students of early American glass. Items from this early glassmaking establishment are owned by museums throughout the country.
