Magnetite completes environmentally friendly retrofit installation

Magnetite Insulating Windows recently completed a large retrofit at the Citiclub building in Melbourne, partially funded through the Australian environmental upgrade fund.

Magnetite Insulating Windows recently completed a large retrofit at the Citiclub building in Melbourne’s CBD. The installation was partially funded through the Australian environmental upgrade fund, which provides financial support for retrofit commercial business attempting to achieve substantial energy savings.
The installation used double-glazing to help to improve the insulation of the building’s façade and was applied to the hotel section of the building.
Robert Campbell of Magnetite Melbourne explained that: “Magnetite’s retrofit system is designed to improve the glazing’s energy performance which in turn improves the NABERS rating.”
The retrofit of the former headquarters of the RACV Club hopes to improve the energy saving potential of the building by 27%, increasing the NABERS rating from 2½ stars to 4-4½ stars.
This green retrofit of the Citiclub is just one of the growing numbers of commercial building green projects that Magnetite is taking part in.
