Lilly Industries more than doubled to a 52-week high of 30 5/16, up 17 7/16 on the New York Stock Exchange recently. The Indianapolis paints-and-coatings maker agreed to be acquired by rival Valspar for US$ 31.75 a share, or US$ 762 million, plus the assumption of US$ 213 million of debt.
