Kaspiysky float glass investment project moves forward

During the opening ceremony of the electrical substation for the Kaspiysky float glass plant, participants visited the site and inspected the facilities under construction, including the main furnace with a capacity of over 1,200 tons per day and storage.

The deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Dagestan Rizvan Gazimagomedov visited Kaspiysky float glass plant located in Kumtorkalinsky district of the republic and took part in the opening ceremony of the electrical substation to provide the construction site with electricity.
According to the Dagestani vice-premier, the Head of Dagestan will meet with the head of “Gazprom” Alexey Miller in the near future to discuss the construction of a gas distribution station for the company with capacity of 350 million cubic meters per year. In the meantime, the republican leadership has allocated RUB 81 million for construction, and equipment has already been ordered. By the end of the year all the necessary facilities will have been completed.
Participants at the ceremony visited the site and inspected the facilities under construction. These include the main furnace with a capacity of over 1,200 tons per day and storage. According to the Plant Director, the project envisages construction of a plant for the production of float glass with a total production capacity of 600 tons per day. The plant will produce tinted, stained, glass, and reflective types of glass, i.e. with a reflective coating. About 40% of production will be exported to Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Iran, Azerbaijan, Turkey and Armenia.
The factory is located in the village of Tube, in Kumtorkalinsky district of Dagestan, rich in deposits of quartz sand, used as raw material for glass production. The total project cost is more than RUB 10 billion. About RUB 600 million has already been used for equipment from Horn Glass Industries AG, “Premium Engineering” and Stewart Engineers, Inc.
