The company had a net loss of Zl 3.514 million compared with a profit of Zl 321.1 thousand in the same period a year earlier. Operating loss was reported at Zl 1.268 million compared with a 357.6-thousand-zloty profit in the same period a year earlier. Sales were up slightly at Zl 5.391 million compared with Zl 5.2 million in the same period a year earlier. For January-December 1998, Irena reported sales of Zl 78.329 million compared with Zl 73.092 million in the same period a year earlier. The company had a net loss of Zl 2.617 million compared with an 8.01 million-zloty-profit in the same period a year earlier. Operating profit was at Zl 426.6 thousand compared with Zl 11.059 million in the same period a year earlier.
