Hankuk Electric Glass of Korea will advance into the TFT-LCD plate glass market through a partnership with Asahi Glass of Japan, which controls 15-20% of the global supply in the field. A company spokesman said Hankuk is negotiating details for an alliance such as royalties. Sales rose 21% and current surplus 130% to 155.6 billion won and 46.2 billion won in the first quarter, respectively.
