Every two years, glasstec – the world“s most important fair for the glass industry and the respective sub-suppliers – takes place in Dsseldorf, Germany. At the recently-held event, Grenzebach Maschinenbau showed a lot of innovative technology for the glass and solar sector on its new, two-storey fair stand. For us, glasstec is the most important fair worldwide, explains Egbert Wenninger, member of the management and responsible for Glass and Solar Sales worldwide. This year we could notice economic recovery in all sectors of our markets. The Glass as well as the Solar sector showed increased investment activities; there were again discussions about concrete projects, he adds. Of course, Grenzebach was especially pleased about the two orders for a total value of more than EUR 5 million, which were placed at the fair. This year“s combination of solarpeq and glasstec had a very positive response for providers of thin-film technology such as Grenzebach. In our solar circle we exhibited technologies at the fair, which are innovative as well as useful to our customers for the production of flat glass and thin-film solar modules. A newly developed ultrasound gripper, for instance, handles solar modules without touching them. The “non-contact“ energy and data transfer also allows for a carriage for glass cassettes without damageable cable guide chains. A new kind of ultrasonic welding procedure creates a fixed connection between metal and glass and will, in the future, provide a multitude of applications for glass and solar modules.
