GOMD 2012: call for papers; event update

GOMD 2012 will take place 20-24 May in St. Louis, US, with a programme covering glass, amorphous solids and optical materials.

The Glass & Optical Materials Division for GOMD 2012 will take place 20-24 May in St. Louis, US, with a programme covering the physical properties and technological processes important to glasses, amorphous solids and optical materials. Those who wish to submit an abstract are invited to do so by 30 November 2011.
GOMD 2012 features four symposia – Glass Science, Optical Materials & Devices, Cross-cutting Topics and Festschrift to the Glass Research Career of Prof. Delbert E. Day – a poster session, and a student poster contest. Sessions headed by technical leaders from industry, government laboratories, and academia will cover the latest advances in glass science and technology, as well as a focused examination of the amorphous state.
GOMD 2012 is designed for materials professionals involved in the scientific research and development, application and manufacturing of all glass types, including optical materials, sol-gel derived materials, fiber optics, encapsulation of nuclear/hazardous waste, bioglass, super high-strength glasses, and many more.
