During Glass South America 2010, Glaston will reveal its new partner product for superior wastewater treatment equipment developed and manufactured by Italy-based Forza G. As per the agreement, Glaston will start distributing the Forza G line that is specifically tested to work with Glaston machinery. Forza G, established in 1998 in Italy, is dedicated to developing environmentally friendly wastewater treatment products specifically for the glass and stone processing industries. These integrated systems recycle virtually 100% of production wastewater with a physical centrifugal process that extends the operational life of machinery and enables glass processing companies to meet increasingly stringent regulations. Additionally, the innovative Forza G technology adds to clear savings in water consumption. Glaston“s agreement with Forza G will allow the distribution of the complete line of Forza G“s water treatment machinery for glass grinding, CNC and washing machinery, among others. Glass processing customers can purchase systems for single production machines up to centralized systems for larger processing needs of more than 400 cubic meters per hour. Juha Lietty, senior vice president, Glaston Services, describes the advantages: There are two main options to separate sludge from water in these machines: chemically with flocculants or physically through a centrifuge. Flocculants have been the standard method, despite the fact that they are harmful to the machinery, causing rusting and decreasing end product quality. Physical centrifuge is clearly superior, as it does not harm the machines and yields significant savings in water consumption.
