Glasswerks introduces energy-saving thermal shades

Thermal Shades from Glasswerks Inc. combine traditional blinds and energy efficient insulated glass units which decrease internal heating, which avoids expensive air-conditioning costs, as well as eliminating sun damage to fabrics, furnishings, and flooring.

Leading commercial and architectural glassmaker Glasswerks Inc., has introduced energy-saving Thermal Shades to its diverse line of glass products and services for commercial and residential use.
Thermal Shades combine traditional blinds and energy efficient insulated glass units. The amount of infrared energy and UV radiation that pass through the mini-blinds is controlled by its unique design. This feature decreases internal heating, which avoids expensive air-conditioning costs. In addition, sun damage to fabrics, furnishings, and flooring becomes virtually obsolete. Tilting or raising the blind slats to an optimal level allows brightness and privacy to be controlled. The BTG installation means that dusting the blinds is eliminated, maintaining cleanliness merely involves wiping the outer glass surface. The protective layers of glass prevents damage from everyday use.
Thermal Shades are available in 4 different models: Top Slide, Top & Side Slide, Front Operating Tilt and Front Operating Lift and Tilt. Top Slide Tilt is operated by slide with right or left handing. It is available in 4 different colours; white, alabaster, tan and gold. Top & Side Slide is operated in top slide tilt or side slide lift with right or left handing. It is only available in white. Front Operating is operated by cord loop, wand or knob with right or left handing. It is available in white, off-white, silver, almond, tan and gold colours. Front Operating Lift and Tilt is operated by cord loop or knob with right or left handing. It is available in winter white, taupe, fawn, almond, charcoal and grey.
