Glass for Europe elects new chairman

Glass for Europe, the association of Europe’s manufacturers of building, automotive and solar-energy glass, has elected Houchan Shoeibi, CEO of Saint-Gobain Glass, as Chairman of the Board of Directors.

At its last General Assembly, Glass for Europe, the association of Europe’s manufacturers of building, automotive and solar-energy glass, elected Houchan Shoeibi as Chairman of the Board of Directors. Shoeibi is CEO of Saint-Gobain Glass, the flat glass division of Saint-Gobain, a leading global construction products manufacturer. Shoeibi takes over the position of Glass for Europe Chairman from Jean-François Heris, President and CEO of AGC Glass Europe.
Shoeibi has a long experience of the flat glass industry since he first joined Saint-Gobain Glass in 1994 as an engineer in Industrial Information Systems in Belgium. He then headed to France to work at the International Technical Department of Saint-Gobain Glass, before becoming Deputy Production Manager in Portugal and Plant Manager in Poland. Since 2002, Shoeibi has held various executive positions in Poland, China and South Korea and, in particular, headed the Saint-Gobain Glass Sector for Asia-Pacific.
During the General Assembly, Reha Ackcakaya, Directive of Automotive Glass at Sisecam Trakya Cam was elected Vice-Chairman of the Board. The Board of Directors is also composed of Philip Ramsey, Vice-President Technology of NSG, and Jean- François Heris, CEO and president of AGC Glass Europe.
These mandates within Glass for Europe’s Board of Directors will run until March 2014.
