Glas Trösch Group: boarding house with laser show

A connecting element between two existing buildings, a cube captivates with its lasered glass façade elements

Not far from Munich airport, Boardinghaus Eching was recently upgraded to include a spectacular cube featuring Glas Trösch glazing. With an impressive 105 apartments, it is the largest boarding house in the vicinity of Munich. A two-storey glass cube with a café, restaurant, bar and lounge was recently added to round out the offering.
A connecting element between the two existing buildings, the cube captivates with its extravagant glass façade. A structure lasered into the glass runs through the entire building envelope. While the laser design gives the building an interesting aesthetic during the day, at night this even increases significantly thanks to the LEDs integrated into every element of insulated glass. The changing colour of the façade holds guests and visitors spellbound from far away.

This is all made possible by triple insulated glass with SILVERSTAR EN2plus coating. The LEDs were integrated vertically into the frame structure. The combination of laser treatment and side lighting creates a three-dimensional effect that gives the façade an even more lively appearance. Boardinghaus Eching describes itself as “special accommodation” – and the new glass cube is an impressive way to demonstrate this claim.
