Fulltech Fiber Glass, a manufacturer of fiberglass yarns and fabrics for PCB bonding sheets and laminates, has announced that it plans to dedicate half its capacity to the production of industrial grade fiberglass yarns/fabrics. In this way, the company aims at becoming the top vendor in the segment within the next five years, according to company chairman Yuan-Pin Chang. Vetrotex, Fulltech and PPG Industries are currently the world“s top-three vendors for industrial grade fiberglass yarns, while Fulltech has a 30% share in each fiberglass yarn market in the US and Europe, Chang added. Fulltech has an annual production capacity of 75,000 tons of electronic grade fiberglass yarns, and is also currently the second largest vendor in the electronic glass yarn segment, behind PFG Fiber Glass which has a capacity of 200,000 tons and Taiwan Glass Industry with an annual capacity of 80,000 tons. Fulltech plans to increase its capacity for electronic grade fiberglass yarns to 81,000 tons by the end of 2011, taking the place of Taiwan Glass as the second largest vendor in the segment. According to Chang, the company also plans to build a new plant with a capacity of 800,000 meters of fiberglass fabrics a month.
