The present trend in the architectural world is to extend the use of glass to larger surfaces, with a key role in buildings aesthetics and, therefore, consequently demanding glass surfaces with higher performances in terms of safety and energy saving. In response, the glass industry is offering tempered and laminated glass to provide safety, and double- or multiple-glazing to provide the necessary insulation. The use of these technologies together enables architects to create futuristic and impressive designs. However, it is not always easy to create these large surfaces, as normal insulating glass assembly lines do not have the load bearing capacity or size to process such enormous glass sheets. And this is why For.El. has installed several oversize plants able to handle jumbo units, with the latest line capable of assembling jumbo size units, 6m x 3.2m, with thickness up to 85mm and weighing 450 kg/m. A re-designed revolutionary, simple and solid conveying system allows the use of laminated or tempered-laminated glass and the assembly of multiple layer units, thus increasing the number of possible combinations to be assembled, while an exclusive mobile conveyor system downloads these units without compromising the safety of the operators.
