Under the motto “A spacer for all solutions”, Edgetech will be presenting its entire Super Spacer® family from September 5 to 8 in Milan, Italy, at Vitrum 2023.
When the world’s first metal-free warm edge spacer system was introduced in the form of Super Spacer® in 1989, the term sustainability was just transforming from a niche notion into a mainstream ideal.
“Super Spacer already offered the option of thermally optimising edge seals even before the era of Low-E thermal insulating glazing had started. We thus proudly view ourselves as pioneers of the warm edge,” stated Joachim Stoss, Vice President of International Sales at Quanex.
Since then a lot has changed. Today warm edge spacers with their low thermal conductivity, excellent Psi values and excellent condensation resistance are the present and the future. Glass has become the signature material in twenty-first century architecture, merging from a mere functional element to a decisive structural and design element coming in many shapes and forms. At the same time improving the building energy performance and reducing carbon emissions has become vital in modern construction. Never has there been a broader range of glass solutions on the market to meet all these demands.
Being unique by offering a spacer for all solutions for the glazing of the building envelope is one way to stay ahead of the competition, and having a warm edge spacer system that can be efficiently and economically applied into any kind of insulating glass unit is virtually a small, but significant asset for every glass manufacturer.
Due to their structural silicone foam, flexible Super Spacer® products are naturally suitable for any manufacturing task and any production method.
The automatic application of the flexible Super Spacer® from the roll also supports the goal of maximum flexibility and speed in semi-automatic or fully automatic insulating glass processing. With the help of spacer application robots, the foam-based spacers are placed parallel in the insulating glass line with millimeter precision in seconds and guarantee a flawless, tight edge seal as well as precisely finished corners. Widths between 3.2 and 32 millimetres are available. Furthermore, desiccant residues in the space between the panes are excluded, as the desiccant is already integrated in the Super Spacer® material and does not have to be filled separately
In addition to the tried-and-tested Super Spacer® variants for robot-assisted and manual application, the structure of Super Spacer® T-Spacer™ SG was specially developed to meet the requirements of the structural glazing and XXL glazing market. Parallelism and low tolerances of the spacers in large multi-pane insulating glass units have become even more precise and the overall system ever so robust.
In addition, Edgetech will show a selection of new colour variants and samples in ruby and green. They complement the standard colours Light Grey, Grey, White and Black and demonstrate the company’s diversity.
Edgetech at VITRUM 2023 will be in Hall 7P, Stand S04.
