DWS Defense Systems, Inc. dramatically demonstrated the bullet resistance of its glass products in a demonstation at the Westside Rifle and Pistol Range in New York City on 20 November 2003. A wholly owned subsidiary of DataWorld Solutions, Inc., DWS Defense Systems, Inc. provides high quality, state of the art safety/security glass product applications and associated security systems. The product demonstration opened with a presentation by former NYC Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik, a member of the DWS Defense Systems Advisory Board, who discussed world-wide issues related to terrorist activities. Immediately following Commissioner Kerik“s presentation, a retired NYC police officer put the bullet resistance of two glass products by DWS Defence Systems strategic partner, Gaffco Ballistics, to the test. The officer fired several rounds of Magnum 44 mm caliber bullets into a bullet resistant 1-1/4 inch UL Rated Level 3 Poly Carbonate “glass” sample and several rounds of Type 233 caliber bullets into Gaffco Ballistics“ 2-1/2 inch UL Rated Level 8 Glass Clad sample designed to resist bullet penetration and to be blast resistant for up to 100 lbs. of TNT at a 50 feet stand-up distance. In all instances, Gaffco Ballistics“ glass products withstood the impact of the multiple bullets, did not shatter, and prevented the bullets from penetrating their outer rear surfaces. The demonstration was led by DWS Defense Systems CEO Daniel McPhee and included DWS Advisory Board members, DWS strategic teaming partners, local business leaders, potential investors, and members of the media. Mr. McPhee brought the demonstration to a close with the message “The use of these types of products in safety and security applications and systems will serve to save lives and help to deter the horrendous actions of terrorists throughout the world.”
