This year“s Most Innovative Commercial Hardware Product is, according to the Crystal Achievement Awards, the ED400-IG Automatic Operator from DORMA Entrance Systems. The 2010 winners, from 30 categories, selected by judges representing all segments of the glass industry. According to DORMA, the ED400-IG revolutionary operator performs well in applications such as arched doors or all-glass faades, concealing the automatic components in the floor under the door threshold, and functions in low-energy or full-power modes, for new construction and retrofits. DORMA developed the ED400-IG in partnership with Opcon Manufacturing Systems. The energy generated by the ED400 drive unit to the pivot allows consistent, smooth operation. All ED400 operator functions, such as Push & Go, Power Close, and Lock Interface, are fully available in this application.
