The 2010 season of the Dorflinger Glass Museum opens with “A Passion for Dorflinger Glass: The Collection of a Lifetime“, exhibiting more than 125 pieces of glass made by the Dorflinger companies. It features fine examples of glass covering the entire range of Dorflinger“s glass production collected by two sisters who spent several decades collecting glass. “Dorflinger Legacy II: More Glass from Family Collections“, an ongoing exhibit, includes several fine examples with copper wheel engraved designs, rare historic pieces and some common patterns, and is a rotating display of glass on loan from members of the Dorflinger family. “Rose Pattern in Glass“ features experts Walter Barbe and Kurt Reed who continue to explore variations of the rose pattern from the many Wayne County glass factories. The display includes more than 30 pieces of glass with the rose pattern that were found in researching their book “The Glass Industry in Wayne County, Pennsylvania, 1807 to Present“. The Dorflinger Glass Museum exhibits the largest collection of Dorflinger glass in the US, along with glass made by other Wayne County glass factories, and is also home to the Wildflower Music Festival, a series of eight Saturday evening and one Sunday afternoon concerts held in a natural amphitheater.
