Chilean stocks were set to open higher after Telefonica CTC Chile said it will sell a 40-% stake in cable TV operator Metropolis-Intercom as part of a US$ 270 million deal, traders said. CTC said it will sell the stake to Cordillera Comunicaciones Ltda., a consortium formed in equal parts by glassmaker Cristalerias de Chile and Liberty Media Corp. The IPSA index of leading stocks fell 1.27% to 102.23 points, pressured by an aggressive rise in US interest rates and profit-taking, traders said.
