La Veneciana, a subsidiary of the Spanish glass group Cristaleria Espanola, has agreed to the acquisition of Portaglas, La Galeria del Vidrio and Manufacturas Gallegas for Pta 814 million. The three Galician glass manufacturers and distributors, which are part of the same group, generate a turnover of Pta 1,100 million. The Cristaleria Espanola group generated net consolidated profits of Pta 11,219 million in the first nine months of 1999, up 19%. Its turnover amounted to Pta 147,782 million, up 14%.
