Output at the Crimean Soda Plant (Crimea, Krasnoperekopsk) in the 1Q 2003, was down by 18% or UAH 9.7 million year-on-year, to UAH 45.6 million. The fall in production in the 1Q is due to the limitation on gas supplies to the plant in March, as a result of which only one out of three processing lines was operating. In late March – early April 2003 the Chornomornaftohaz company, a Ukrainian gas provider, reduced supplies to the Crimean soda plant by 50% to 0.25 million cubic meters per day. In 1Q 2002, Crimean Soda Plant increased output by 5.46% or UAH 2.859 million compared with 1Q 2001, to UAH 55.257 million. In 2002, the plant increased output by 3.7% or UAH 8.021 million compared with 2001, to UAH 227.019 million, and exported 40.3% of its products. The company“s major markets are Russia, Belarus, Italy, Poland, Turkey, Mexico, and Venezuela.
