Despite reporting higher revenue for the second quarter ended 30 June, Canadian Consumers Packaging Inc.“s earnings fell. The glass-container company, based in Toronto, had a profit of C$ 10 million or 30 cents a share on revenue of C$ 129.5 million. In the second quarter of 1995, it had earnings of C$ 15.1 million (53 cents) on revenue of C$ 128.4 million. Chairman and chief executive John Ghaznavi blamed a soft US market and price pressures for the results. For the first six months of the year, Consumers had a profit of C$ 10.8 million (34 cents) on revenue of C$ 237.5 million versus year-earlier earnings of C$ 18.5 million (65 cents) on revenue of C$ 232.2 million.
