The output of tempered glass in China, in May 2011, was 23.29 million sq.m., an increase of 25.9% compared with the same period of 2010. Total output was 101.14 million sq.m., up 25.2%. The national output of laminated glass in May was 5.31 million sq.m., an increased of 30.5% compared with same time last year. The total output was 25.09 million sq.m., up 32.8%. The national output of hollow glass in May was 2.96 million sq.m., an increase of 1.4% compared with the same time last year. The total output was 13 million sq.m., a decrease of 0.3%. In May, the total output of tempered glass in Zhejiang province increased 19.4% over the same period of the previous year at 17.6 million sq.m. The total output of tempered glass in Jiangsu province was 16.91 million sq.m., up 33.3%, while in Guangdong province, the total output of tempered glass was 5.8 million sq.m., a decrease of 6.7%. In Shanghai, total output increased 62.4% at 9.89 million sq.m. Total output in Shandong province was 13.58 million sq.m., an increase of 44.3%. And in Fujian, total output increased 14.1% at 5.45 million sq.m. The output of plate glass was 59.05 million weight cases, up 17.8% compared with same time last year. Total output was 279.69 million weight cases, an increase of 16.6% compared to 2010. Output in plate glass export was 24.43 million weight cases, an increase of 8.6% compared to the same time last year, while total output was 117.25 million weight cases, up 7.5%. Output in tempered glass export was 3.3364 million sq.m., an increase of 2.5% compared to he same time last year. Total output was 16.4288 million sq.m., up 13.7%. Since the beginning of this year, the cost prices of technical glass have dropped 0.8% compared to the same period of 2010.
