Henan Province-based Ancai Group Co. Ltd. has purchased 9 production lines from US Corning Corp. The equipment was previously in use at Corning“s CRT plant at State College, Pennsylvania, whose closure was announced in April 2003. Corning staff are currently working to dismantle the equipment in preparation for shipping to China. When the production lines enter service, Ancai Group will become the biggest glass bulb manufacturer in the world, up from its current third place in the world ranking. The production lines will enable Ancai Group to produce large-scale color glass bulbs of all kinds of specifications from 63cm to 86cm.
