Central Glass of Japan is forecasting parent company sales of JPY 144.5 billion and net profits of JPY 6.1 billion for the year to 31 March 2001. For the previous year to 31 March 2000, the Japanese sheet glass maker reported sales totalling JPY 141.4 billion and net profits of JPY 432 million. A forecast dividend of JPY 5 remains unaltered from the previous year. At a group level, the forecast to 31 March 2001 is sales of JPY 180 billion and a net profit of JPY 5.6 billion. The previous business year ended with sales of JPY 175 billion and net losses of JPY 521 million. For the half-year to 30 September 2000, Central Glass chalked up sales of JPY 70.1 billion at a parent company level and JPY 88 billion at a group level, for profits of JPY 2.82 billion and JPY 2.92 billion for parent and group respectively.
