Minnesota-based insulated glass windows manufacturer Cardinal IG Co. plans to expand its operations in Fremont, Indiana, adding up to 70 jobs. Cardinal IG was set to announce details of the “multimillion-dollar expansion” at a news conference at the factory 26 April 2005. The firm employs about 250 at its Fremont plant, according to information published in the 2005 Harris Indiana Industrial Directory, while nationwide, the company employs about 4,000 at 22 manufacturing locations, according to the company website. The Fremont plant assembles window frames for residential properties using panes manufactured at another company site. The 1,115-square-meter Fremont plant generates estimated annual sales between USD 25 million and USD 50 million, according to the Harris directory. The company is owned by its management. Cardinal also operates wholly owned subsidiaries that make coated glass and float and tempered glass and has plants across the USA, including locations in California, Texas, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania.
