Biesse Corporate, the parent company of Intermac, which constitutes its glass and stone division, has announced that it is nearing its listing on the Milanese Stock Exchange. The operation, involving the placement of around 35% of Biesse capital, is forecast to take place in the first half of 2001 through the company“s investment bank Lazard & C. Based in Pesaro Italy, the firm is a producer of machinery for the processing of wood, glass and marble. Biesse saw a turnover of ITL 418 billion in the first nine months of 2000, an increase of 15% over the same period in 1999. On 30 June 2000, the group took over the Austrian firm Schelling, which is specialized in panel sizing systems and turnkey plants. Dr. Roberto Selci, Biesse“s managing director, says the stock exchange listing constitutes a new challenge for the company, which, with its four divisions and shrewd investment policy, is becoming more and more competitive on the international market.
