Beatson Clark’s recycling plant processes around 44,000 tonnes of waste glass every year, producing high-quality cullet that can be melted down and re-manufactured into new glass packaging.
By keeping recycling and production closely linked on the same site, the company supports a more circular approach to glass manufacturing while minimising waste across the glass lifecycle.
Many manufacturers rely on external recycling supply chains, where glass waste is transported away for processing before eventually returning as a raw material. Beatson Clark works differently.

By processing the majority of its recycled glass on-site, Beatson Clark can manage the journey from waste to furnace within a single, controlled system. This reduces the need for additional transport and gives the company much closer control over material quality throughout the process.
It also allows Beatson Clark to work more efficiently, keeping material moving through production without potential unnecessary delays. This supports consistent quality and allows to maximise the amount of recycled content used, with amber glass containers averaging 60 percent post-consumer recycled (PCR) content and white flint glass averaging 42 percent.
