Continuing its drive to become a world-class supplier of glass packaging, Beatson Clark has appointed Gary Brough to the position of operations director. Brough joins award winning, Beatson Clark at an exciting time. The company has developed a long-term strategy focusing on all elements of the business, including investment into facilities and employees and is pleased to enhance this strategy with Brough“s appointment. As operations director, Brough will be responsible for the successful management of each element outside of product production, from planning, engineering and logistics to the recycling plant. Brough, 47 from Retford Nottinghamshire, has joined Beatson Clark from his role as operations controller at Robert McBride. In the past he has held influential roles at some of the country“s leading FMCG companies such as Northern Foods, Sara Lee, Homepride Foods and Unigate (St Ivel). I am looking forward to a new managerial challenge, Beatson Clark has a strong reputation in the area and I look forward to being part of a team dedicated to driving the business forward, said Brough. In recent years Lean Manufacturing“ has been a strong driver in the businesses that I have worked in. This has had a big influence on how I manage and how I look at my role, the concept of understanding the needs of your customer is the first step on the Lean Journey“ and one that I am keen to continue as operations director at Beatson Clark. The market that we operate in is competitive and we need to look at what we can do differently to better support our existing customers, whether this be through considered investment, improving our factory or ensuring that our operations move towards world-class over the next few years.
