26 March 1998: Austrian citizens are said to have collected a total of 216,036 tonnes of glass for recycling in 1997. The volume per head of the population was highest in the province of Tirol (Tyrol) at 35 kilos, followed by 33 kilos in Salzburg and 31 kilos in Vorarlberg.
