Ardagh wins ‘Innovation of the Year’ for the development of the new Absolut Originality bottle.
Innovation is easy to talk about but more difficult to deliver. At the inaugural Luxury Packaging Awards in London last week (September 29) packaging group Ardagh won over a panel of international judges to win ‘Innovation of the Year’ for the development of Absolut Originality.
Judges said that “by using partial colouring for the first time on a commercial scale with a drop of cobalt blue infused into the molten glass, and completing this in 3 weeks something truly remarkable has been achieved”.
“Innovation is in Ardagh´s DNA from concept through to completion, and to receive this award brings welcome recognition for the whole team behind this challenging development which completely stretched the boundaries of packaging design and execution,” says Ardagh´s Head of Marketing for Glass Europe, Sharon Crayton, who is the company’s innovation champion.
