Architecture and Construction Ministry of Belarus advocates use of energy-efficient glass windows

The Minister of Architecture and Construction of Belarus advocates the inclusion of energy-efficient glass windows, he told the Deputy Minister of Architecture and Construction Dmitry Semenkevich after the opening of the XIX International Exhibition and Forum “Stroyexpo”.

“The ministry will not restrict the requirements for window products, even though we had considered the idea. We will require mandatory inclusion of energy-efficient glass windows,” said the deputy minister.
According to Mr Semenkevich, the project is important not only for housing but also for the construction of public buildings. As previously reported, the company “Gomelsteklo” leads modernization in terms of industrial processing of glass. The launch of the production line of energy-efficient windows is expected within six months of commissioning and which will produce the first phase of about 4 million square meters of the glass with the possibility of increasing the volume to 8 million sq.m. This will expand into additional markets, and the company already has preliminary contracts for the supply of energy-efficient glass for export. Among the promising areas of the market in Western Europe is announced.
