AGC announces investments in coating technologies, new equipment

AGC has launched a new high performing coated glass product – Energy Select 31 – to enhance its expanding platform of commercial and residential low-emissivity coating technologies; while investing at two of its glass plants, with a new high-speed tempering line and added equipment to apply protective film.

AGC Glass Company North America has launched Energy Select 31, a new high performing coated glass product that enhances AGC’s expanding platform of commercial and residential low-emissivity coating technologies. Energy Select 31 is an energy-efficient coated glass with a slightly bluer hue designed for commercial building applications.
The company also announced investments at two of its glass plants, with a new high-speed tempering line at its Greenland manufacturing plant in Church Hill, Tennessee, and added equipment to apply protective film on post-temperable coated glass at its Abingdon, Virginia, plant.
“These investments along with the introduction of the new high performance coating reflect AGC’s commitment to focus on its core glass manufacturing and coating operations and technologies in North America and help its commercial and residential customers find innovative solutions to meet the growing demand for more energy efficient, high performance products,” company officials said.
