MFG“s (Molded Fiber Glass Companies) CEO Richard Morrison has received the ACMA“s (American Composites Manufacturers Association) highest accolade for significant and lasting contribution to the composites industry. ACMA recognized Morrison with the organization“s Lifetime Achievement award for his long-standing industry and association leadership. The Lifetime Achievement award is the most prestigious award ACMA presents at its annual convention, stated Gary Multanen, CEO of Best Bath Systems and chairman of the ACMA awards committee. Richard Morrison exemplifies the type of person who is dedicated to his industry, his employees, our national association and the communities where his company conducts business. He joins a group of 12 previous awardees who, as a collective group, set the barrier of entry for awardees in the future. The award was presented during the recently-held Composites 2011 Convention and Exhibition. This year“s award had special significance since ACMA“s first Lifetime Achievement award was given in 1998 to Morrison“s father, the late Robert S. Morrison, founder of Molded Fiber Glass Companies. Richard Morrison began his composites career in 1968 as a production manager for the Molded Fiber Glass Boat Company. In 1970, he was promoted to president and general manager. In 1979, he was assigned to the Molded Fiber Glass Tray Company, serving as its president and general manager. Since 1987, he has served as president and CEO of the Molded Fiber Glass Companies, an internationally recognized leader in composites manufacturing. Morrison is an alumnus of Stanford University.
