This milestone reflects how far climate-aligned business has come and sends a strong signal that science-based action is advancing.
These companies represent more than 40 percent of global market cap and include the biggest names in business. From nearly every major sector, region and business size, setting science-based targets is increasingly a mainstream business practice across much of the world economy.
Not only are these companies playing an essential role in the global transition to net-zero, they are also reaping the business rewards of validation. 91 percent of companies said science-based targets had a positive impact on their business overall in a recent survey, with favourable impacts reported across reputation, strategy and long-term financial performance.
This milestone belongs first and foremost to the companies themselves, whose climate leadership is laying the foundation for a net-zero future
