Once again, container glass manufacturer Crown Sivesa, based in Orizaba, Veracruz, Mexico, has placed its trust in HORN – the expert in advanced glass melting technology – to carry out a major furnace repair project.
Building on a strong partnership forged through previous successful collaborations, including the commissioning of a 450 tonnes per day end-fired furnace for Crown Vichisa in Chihuahua in 2017, a high-performance 360 tonnes per day recuperative furnace B in Orizaba in 2018 and the rebuild of Furnace A in 2020, HORN was now entrusted with the repair of Furnace C.
This latest project involved the complete refractory repair of a 375 tonnes per day cross-fired glass melting furnace, maintaining the existing design at the Sivesa Orizaba plant. In addition, the furnace was upgraded with state-of-the-art equipment supplied by HORN, further enhancing its efficiency, reliability and production performance. Designed to produce amber, green and flint container glass, the modernised furnace now operates with four production lines.
On April 22, the furnace successfully delivered its first glass – marking yet another milestone in this long-standing collaboration.
HORN is proud to strengthen its partnership with Sivesa, supporting them with reliable, innovative and sustainable solutions for high-quality glass production.
