5 November 1998: Drink manufacturers are increasingly turning to heat-sensitive prelabels developed by Japan“s Yamamura Glass and Fuji Seal, according to a recent report. The companies developed the thermal labels as an alternative to pressure-sensitive prelabels, assuring the same amount of transparency without the need for a peel-away sheet. Thermal labels, as their name implies, are applied by heating and are less costly than pressure-sensitive labels. They also offer significant resistance to scratching and chemicals, the report said.
