8 July 1999: Irish ceramics and glassware group Waterford Wedgwood Plc said it had completed its US$ 110 million purchase of US cookware company All-Clad Inc. and appointed All-Clad“s chairman to its board. The Irish group said Sam Michaels would continue his role as All-Clad chairman and chief executive while helping to launch the cookware group“s luxury brand in European and Asia-Pacific markets. Waterford Wedgwood bought All-Clad in late May from investment bank Wasserstein Perella“s private equity fund, US Equity Partners L.P.
