In a move aimed at strengthening its position in the Mexican marketplace for automotive replacement glass and consolidating its business relationships with the insurance industry as well as individual customers, Vitrocar inaugurated its new Operations Center at Santa Catarina, Nuevo Leon, on 22 June 2007. With the opening of the Operations Center, as well as the startup of branch number 175 in the chain, adjacent to the Center building, Vitro subsidiary Vitrocar launched a series of initiatives that imply important changes in the way it conducts business for the benefit of its customers and institutional clients. “With this new facility it will now be possible to bring together into one location the different operational areas of the company in order to provide a more efficient service to our major customers, the insurance companies and their policy holders, while at the same time supporting the expansion of our network of national installation centers”, confirmed Adrin Sada Cueva, Director of Vitro Automotive. He explained that the new Vitrocar Operations Center now vertically integrates the Customer Service Center; insurance companies and their policy holders will experience a significant improvement in the processes of: policy review, appointment scheduling on a national level, at-home service, rapid and efficient communication between customers and their insurance company, after sale service, amongst other key benefits. “Through the opening of this state of the art operating center equipped with the latest generation of IT equipment and software, Vitrocar seeks to be close to the marketplace and is consolidating in all of its locations in Mexico a professional and uniform service focused on the efficient service and installation of original factory automotive glass, with installation guarantees and in an extremely short timeframe that is highly competitive even at international standards”. “The new Operations Center uses latest generation IT systems that will not only support the growth of our national installation service network, through it being closer to and more flexible with the marketplace, but just as important will generate huge operating and administrative efficiencies that will translate into lower costs for our insurance company partners”. “Consistent with our strategy of maintaining and strengthening our market leadership in Mexico, the growth of our national network of Vitrocar installation centers allows Vitro to broaden its market coverage, creating value added for the business and enhancing brand awareness”. Vitrocar, the largest Mexican glass installation chain, represents the best way for Vitro Automotive to participate in the glass replacement market by reaching the end user. Currently it has 9 distribution centers and 175 installation centers throughout the country, maintaining its leadership with a market share of more than 50%. Its expansion plan in the replacement glass installation channel anticipates two digit annual growth until year 2010.
