On 23 April, the Mexican glass group Vitro SA began production at a new US$ 80 million flat glass production line in Mexico City. In a company statement, Vitro said that the new line would allow it to double production capacity to more than 6,100 tonnes per week. Vitro also said this investment was in addition to the US$ 55 million spent in the company“s domestic appliances division, to extend a refrigerator plant at Apodaca, in the northern Mexican state of Nuevo Leon.
