DFI has announced that Vitro has acquired a proprietary CVD chamber 3D system, which will be used for Vitro’s new E2C (easy-to-clean) product, scheduled for Q1-2013.
Diamon-Fusion International, Inc. (DFI), global developer and exclusive licensor of patented hydrophobic nanotechnologies, has announced its agreement with Vitro Vidrio y Cristal, SA de CV, the flat glass business unit of Vitro S.A.B. de C.V. The supply of DFI’s proprietary CVD chamber 3D system and the launching of Vitro’s new E2C (easy-to-clean) product are projected for Q1-2013.
Founded in 1909, Vitro, S.A.B. de C.V., is the leading glass manufacturer in Mexico, and one of the largest in the world, backed by more than 100 years of experience in the industry.
Alberto Hernandez Tellez, VP Float Glass Business of Vitro, stated: “The need to add value to our glass is a trend dictated by a more sophisticated consumer, and DFI has been the most consistent and proven technology, for over 10 years, when it comes to protecting glass with a durable easy-to-clean feature. We’ve also considered the strength of the process itself, the most industrial flexibility, plus DFI’s unique capability of treating the entire glass, in a 3D fashion, like no other coating. DFI’s nanocoating also provides an eco-friendly benefit that is essential in today’s market.”
Guillermo Seta, Corporate Vice President and Executive Director of DFI, added: “We’ve been collaborating with Vitro for over a decade, always seeking best solutions for their industrial needs, so their decision on incorporating our CVD nanocoating system adding value to their glass is a testament to today’s much larger adoption of our product not only by large manufacturers and processors but also by the consumer. This new product launch by Vitro utilizing our technology adds significant market awareness not only in Mexico but worldwide, given Vitro’s global presence.”
