Jon Maples, vice president of Quality and Materials Management for Visteon Corporation, will speak on 14 April 2004, at the Automotive Parts Manufacturers“ Association (APMA) Annual Conference and Exhibition in Hamilton, Ontario. Maples will focus on “Total Value Chain Management: Acting through Enlightened Self-Interest.” As Visteon“s vice president of Quality and Materials Management, Maples is responsible for leading the company“s ongoing commitment to improve quality and build strong, collaborative partnerships with suppliers. “As one of the largest automotive suppliers in the world, Visteon continues to find new and exciting approaches to collaborating with our supply base in an effort to eliminate waste and bring products to market more effectively,” Maples said. “It“s true enlightened self-interest to want a healthy supply chain, so that“s what we focus on at Visteon. Through collaborative commerce as opposed to adversarial commerce, I believe auto parts manufacturers can create a common vision for both themselves and their supply base.” The APMA is Canada“s national association representing OEM producers of parts, equipment, tools, supplies and services for the worldwide automotive market. The Association was founded in 1952 and has more than 400 members accounting for 90% of independent parts production in Canada.
