Vidrios Riojanos to build a new glass manufacturing plant in Argentina

Vidrios Riojanos is part of Mejor Riojanas Empresas Estatales, a group of 36 companies owned by the government of the province of La Rioja in Argentina

The Argentinian government will contribute USD 900 million for a project by Vidrios Riojanos to start manufacturing wine bottles with a daily production capacity of 100,000 bottles. between flint and green.

In view of of a shortage of glass bottles and a desire to increase exports of wine, the Minister of Productive Development of the Nation, Matías Kulfas, announced the delivery of the loan to build a new plant. The project was first started some years ago, but was stopped by lack of funds.

The objective is for the plant to start manufacturing bottles already in 2022 and the idea is to continue promoting investments for new suppliers of glass containers where the infrastructure can support these plants, such as Rosario and Neuquén, and thus expand the supply and production capacity and avoid future shortages of bottles.
