19 March 1998: France“s Vetrotex has reportedly added a new product with improved mechanical performance to its Unifilio range of continuous filament glass fibre mats. The mechanical properties are strengthened due to transverse orientation of the glass filaments, and the material is produced using the Unitop technology, which permits precise control of properties. Unitop products are said to have advantages over traditional unidirectional fibre products. Applications include large, semi-structural components in excavators and deflectors for truck cabins.
