Urs Ryffel was elected to the Board of Directors of Vetropack Holding after being put forward as a candidate in November last year. His predecessor Urs Kaufmann did not stand for re-election at his own request. The 56-year-old Ryffel now assumes his new position with many years of industrial experience and expertise in managing international companies.

After starting his career as project manager at ABB Kraftwerke AG, Urs Ryffel presided over the global business unit Hydro Power Plant Service. He worked as Unit General Manager for Alstom Power Portugal S.A. in Lisbon from 1999 to 2001 and for Alstom Power Hydraulique S.A. in Paris from 2001 to 2002. In 2002, he joined HUBER+SUHNER AG, initially as Business Unit Manager. Since 2017, he has been leading the Group as CEO.
