SORG: Adolf Dietzel Industrial Award to Research and Development Manager

Research and Development Manager of SORG, Dr. Matthias Lindig, was awarded for his achievements to experiments in oxy-fuel melting technology, the reduction of NOx emissions, and contributions to batch preheating.

Dr. Matthias Lindig of SORG has been awarded the Adolf Dietzel Industrial Award from the German Society of Glass Technology.
At the recent ESG/DGG conference in Maastricht, The Netherlands, Research and Development Manager of SORG, Dr. Matthias Lindig, was recognized for his achievements to experiments in oxy-fuel melting technology, the reduction of NOx emissions, and contributions to batch preheating.
Matthias Lindig has experience of many aspects of the glass industry. He studied at the Technical University in Clausthal, where he obtained a Masters and Doctorate in glass science. He joined the industry to work for Schott, occupying the posts of Manager of Special Projects and General Manager for melting in Mainz.
Since joining SORG in 2001 as Research and Development Manager, he has been responsible for the significant advances made by the company in the field of mathematical modelling.
Through lectures for the DGG expert committee on glass melting technology, presentations for the DGG annual meetings, and holding advanced education courses, Dr. Lindig has contributed to and expanded glass melting technology knowledge.
