Turkey“s Sisecam said that it expects TRY 3.7 billion (EUR 1.7 million) of revenues in 2009. Ahmet Kirman, Sisecam“s chairman of the board of said that the company had not changed the production target of 3.3 million set for this year. Kirman said that Group export revenues totalled USD 160 million in first quarter and added exports could reach USD 800 million this year, the same figure seen for Group export revenues in 2008. Kirman said he expects Sicecam to return to profit in the second quarter, after the loss posted in the first quarter. According to Kirman, Sisecam plans to undertake USD 500 million investments in 2009, also stating that the proposal of the Egyptian government to establish a soda ash plant in Turkey, is still being assessed by the company.
