Shenzhen SEG Samsung Glass Co. Ltd. booked a 3Q net profit of CNY 4.56 million, compared to a loss of CNY 62.20 million in 2005, due to improved cathode ray tube exports, the company announced on 23 October 2006. In a statement filed with the Shenzhen Stock Exchange, SEG Samsung said 3Q core revenue was CNY 542.60 million, up considerably from CNY 440.66 million in 2005, with core profit at CNY 107.59 million, up from CNY 48.82 million. Operating profit was CNY 1.41 million, compared to a loss of CNY 67.90 million in 2005. According to SEG Samsung, the sales-to-production ratio of major products was 103%. In the first nine months of 2006, the company booked a net profit of CNY 7.95 million, significantly below the 50.25 million reported in 2005. Core revenue was CNY 1.47 billion in the nine months compared with 1.54 billion in 2005, with core profit at CNY248.52 million a decrease from CNY 390.07 million. Operating loss in the nine-month period was CNY 61.06 million, against an operating profit of CNY 59.26 million in 2005. At the end of September 2006, SEG Samsung“s total assets were at CNY 3.77 billion , down 11.80% from 2005, while net asset value was CNY 0.48 , against CNY 2.46.
